Pulau Pinang, 1 April 2026 – The School of Biological Sciences (SBS) continues to achieve excellence with the successful award of the Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) Grant under the Malaysia Research University Network (MRUN).

The grant is led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nik Fadzly N. Rosely (University Lecturer, SBS), together with the project team, and focuses on developing an innovative social enterprise model for turtle ecotourism in Teluk Bahang. This initiative integrates knowledge transfer in the fields of science, conservation, and community-based tourism management.

This achievement reflects SBS's research excellence and its continuous commitment to empowering communities through sustainable and high-impact knowledge transfer.

It is hoped that the implementation of this project will proceed smoothly and bring significant benefits to the local community, while also supporting conservation efforts and the development of ecotourism in the country.
