Industrial Training Application Process (inbound)
Students who wish to undergo industrial training at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) must first log in to the SPPLI system at https://sppli.usm.my.
1. System Registration and Login

USM students are required to complete self-registration and log in using the Identity Single Sign-On (SSO).

Non-USM students must register for an “LI-Akaun” (Industrial Training Account) before logging in.
2. Application Submission
After logging in, students must:

Complete their personal and academic details,
-
Upload all required documents, and
-
Submit the application through the SPPLI system.
Once submitted, the Registrar’s Office will receive an email notification, process the application and forward it to the relevant school or department based on the student’s area of interest.
3. Application Review
Upon forwarding by the Registrar’s Office:

The industrial training coordinator of the relevant school will be notified via email.

The coordinator will review the application and decide to accept or reject it.
4. Approval and Offer Letter
The Registrar’s Office will officially confirm the application status.

If approved, the student will receive an offer letter through the system.

The student must confirm acceptance of the offer.
5. Reporting and Training Period
After accepting the offer:

The student must report to the assigned school and complete the required reporting information in the SPPLI system.

Both the Registrar’s Office and the school will verify the student’s reporting.

The student will then undergo industrial training for the approved duration.
6. Completion and Certification
Upon completion of the industrial training:

The student must submit a completion verification form through the system.
-
Once verified by the Registrar’s Office and the school, the student will receive an e-certificate of completion.
