Research background

I am an Associate Professor and the Coordinator of the Vector Control Research Unit (VCRU) at Universiti Sains Malaysia. My research focuses on parasitology, particularly vector-borne and aquatic parasite infections that affect both humans and animals. I have conducted studies on protozoan and helminth parasites in aquatic hosts, zoonotic transmission pathways, and the ecology of parasitic vectors. My expertise includes vector surveillance, and integrated parasite control strategies. I collaborate with local and international partners to address emerging parasitic diseases across urban, rural, and aquatic ecosystems through multidisciplinary and evidence-based approaches.
