Research background

Dr. Suhaila Ab Hamid is an Associate Professor at the School of Biological Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Entomology, an M.Sc. in Applied Parasitology, and a B.Appl.Sc. (Hons.) in Parasitology, all from Universiti Sains Malaysia. Her research focuses on aquatic insects' biology, ecology, and taxonomy, in riverine systems and catchment areas. She is also involved in biomonitoring of macroinvertebrates and freshwater ecology. Dr. Suhaila collaborates with many institutions such as the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, and Jabatan Perhutanan Pahang, as well as international organizations such as the Nagao Natural Environment Foundation in Japan and industry players such as Corteva Agriscience (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.A and TNB Research Sdn. Bhd. Her work contributes significantly to understanding aquatic ecosystems and informs conservation and management strategies for freshwater habitats.
