Research background

My expertise lies in nanobiotechnology, where my research group, Nanobiot@USM, is committed to develop sustainable and nature-inspired materials using nanoparticles. In the earliest discovery, we mainly focused on the utilisation of cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) for nanosensor application. Then, we explored the unique property of CNC as rheology modifier and cells adhesion for application in 3D and 4D bioprinting. In other work, we utilised silver nanoparticles, biosynthesised using bacteria, for application in antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and anticancer study.
