Research background

My research focuses on the microbiology, genetics, and polymer chemistry of microbial polyesters (bioplastics), particularly polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs). In addition, I am also researching on ways to use oil palm biomass for value added applications such as fuel pellet, composite materials and animal feed. Natural rubber biosynthesis and biodegradation are also topics of interest.
