Research background

Prof. Sofiman's research focus mainly on utilizing molecular markers in phylogenetics and genetic diversity studies of several plant families. His research includes genomics and transcriptomics in elucidation of gene functions. Research on two crop plants involved suggesting genes that contribute to yield increase and those confer to disease resistance.
