HONOURING EXCELLENCE AND DEDICATION: MR. MOHD NIZAM BIN BAKAR'S RETIREMENT CELEBRATION

USM, PENANG, 11 June 2026 – The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), organised the Majlis Sanjungan Budi, Lambaian Kasih in honour of the retirement of Mr. Mohd Nizam Bin Bakar, Assistant Science Officer (C5), at Conference Room 107, SBS.

The ceremony was held as a gesture of appreciation and recognition for Mr. Mohd Nizam's dedication, commitment and invaluable contributions throughout his years of service at Universiti Sains Malaysia, particularly at PPSKH.

The ceremony commenced with a prayer session attended by Mr. Mohd Nizam Bin Bakar, led by  Dr. Mohamad Fadhli Bin Mad' Atari

Mr. Mohd Nizam joined SBS on 15 December 2016 and has since played an important role in supporting teaching, learning, research and laboratory operations within the School. Throughout his service, he was known for his professionalism, reliability and willingness to assist colleagues and students, contributing significantly to the smooth functioning of various academic and research activities.

Held in a warm and appreciative atmosphere, the event provided an opportunity for colleagues and friends to express their gratitude and share fond memories of working with him. The programme featured a commemorative video presentation, the presentation of appreciation tokens and a photography session to mark the occasion.

Beyond his professional responsibilities, Mr. Mohd Nizam was highly respected among colleagues for his friendly personality, positive attitude and unwavering commitment to excellence. His contributions and dedication have left a lasting impact on the SBS community.

In his farewell address, Mr. Mohd Nizam Bin Bakar expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the School community for the support and memorable experiences throughout his years of service.

The School of Biological Sciences extends its heartfelt appreciation and sincere gratitude to Mr. Mohd Nizam Bin Bakar for his years of dedicated service and invaluable contributions to the University. SBS wishes him continued good health, happiness and fulfilment as he embarks on a new chapter of life following his retirement.
