The Histology Unit of the biology School is a teaching lab and a research unit that provides histology services and sample preparation of tissues within University and other research institution and University. Students will be provided samples for BOT 205 Microscopy and Histological Techniques classes whereby they use this samples to study and prepare histology microscopy slides. Samples from other department and institutions will be processed in Histology Unit.

Services of the Histology Unit:-

The Histology Unit provides services for the biological tissues which includes plant and animal tissues.

• Embedding centre: Samples will be processed with paraplast wax and will be embedded in paraplast wax in a block form.
• Microtome: Samples that is processed and embedded will be sectioned through microtome. Slices of tissue will be placed on a microscope slide and observed under the microscope after staining process
• Training: Users are provided with training on how to prepare their own samples. Training workshop for student and staffs will be conducted when needed
