Research background

My research focuses on fungal phytopathogens that affect fruits, vegetables, and other crops. I commonly study fungal genera such as Fusarium, Colletotrichum, Pestalotiopsis, and Lasiodiplodia. Using various approaches, I examine their biology and how they cause disease. I also explore fungi from diverse environments, including indoor air and soil. In addition to understanding plant diseases, I aim to develop sustainable solutions for disease management. This includes investigating plant-based compounds like essential oils and secondary metabolites from fungal endophytes, which show strong potential as effective, eco-friendly alternatives to conventional chemical controls in modern agriculture.
