International Field School Program

(Exploring Malaysia’s tropical paradise) This program is conducted upon request from universities and colleges outside Malaysia every year from May to June in collaboration with USM International Office. The 7-week program, equivalent to 3 credit-hours, is intended for students majoring in any biological sciences field, providing students with hands-on experience in the tropical environment, particularly in biological diversity, ecology and conservation. A series of lectures and field trips are conducted by the academic staff and officers from related government agencies such as the Department of Wildlife and National Park, and Department of Forestry. Students are evaluated based on fieldwork assessment, seminar presentations, active participation throughout the program and written examination.
