Research Profile

My research interests are molecular ecology, population genetics and conservation biology. My particular interest is to apply the standard population genetics theory so that it can be applied for conservation of a species.  Specifically, I use molecular DNA techniques in conjunction with animals’ life history and ecological data to determine patterns of gene flow and levels of genetic diversity intra- and inter-populations (particularly in mammals and marine and freshwater fishes), and characterize the population genetic structure of species with low/moderate dispersal capabilities (i.e. rodents, small mammals). I also use these techniques to investigate mating strategies of animals (e.g. amammals) and determine stock structure of marine fishes.
